When fear holds you back

"Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities." Isaiah 54:2-3

Fear, this one word has held me back more times in my life than I care to admit in this post. Fear that I will not give enough time to my family if I spread my wings, people in my life will not understand my calling and I will be discouraged, fear of failure and rejection and list goes on and on and on.

Sounds familiar to you all! Yes it is. We all hold ourselves back in living a truly called life because we have all these fears in our hearts. Yet god ask us to trust him and spread our horizons. Is not this amazing that the one who is all powerful and owner of this universe wants us to trust him and have faith in him and then he is asking us to enlarge our tents?

The above verse is my favourite whenever fear tries to hold me back for doing something that God calls me to do and all I am doing it just delaying his call. 

Next time, when God puts something meaningful in your heart, remind yourself of this verse and then go on without fear. The one who is all powerful will take care of everything else for you.

Prayer: Lord, hold my heart when fear creeps in and then lead me to the call that you have placed on my life knowing that you will take care of the rest.

"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You." — Isaiah 26:3 (NIV) Every morning, before the sun rises, I never find myself wondering, "What if it doesn't come up today?" I've never stayed awake worrying that tomorrow will remain dark. Why? Because I've seen the sun rise every single day of my life. My confidence isn't based on seeing tomorrow's sunrise. It's built on witnessing yesterday's faithfulness.
