Align your heart to do the hard work

Those who work their land will have abundant food,but those who chase fantasies have no sense: proverbs 12:11

I love fantasy. It's a delight for me to watch a Disney movie with my kid on weekends, to pick up a fantasy novel and read it and imagine the characters playing right in front of me. I am visually creative so a good book or a disney animation fascinates me.

While there is nothing wrong in watching these fliks ( that teaches us so much about courage and faith), but I realised that spending too much of your emotions and wanting a fairy tale life for yourself is something which is not from God. 

Let's face the truth.  Life is not fairy tale. Everything is dependent on all the hard work and good work that we put for the kingdom of god. We reap what we sow. While it's important to have some of those qualities that a princess character teaches us like kindness, faith, courage, to get the fruit of these qualities we have to practice them in real world. 

However if we chase too much of fantasy, we are prone to more heartbreaks and disappointments in the real world which makes it difficult to practice these good qualities. Rather than becoming a good princess, we soon find ourself chasing after people, becoming people pleaser and finally getting ourselves hurt in the process. Lord opened my eyes to see my fantasy as an idol.

No fantasy character can replace lord and his commands which leads us to Proverbs 12:11 in which lord has clearly commanded not to chase fantasies, however work on our land, then we will have abundance of food.

So what is lord asking you to do today? What is that assignment that he wants you to complete or that bad habit that he wants you to get over. Work on it dear friends and stop fantasise that it will all be done by itself. Once you understand this seek his help and he is more than willing to guide you and to show you the right way.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to see those idols and fantasies in my life which is making me lazy to do the hardwork that you want me to do. Replace it with your truth and give me a willing heart to do what you have called me to do. Amen.
